Program Goals. The main purpose of the MA program «Global and Regional Security and Conflict Management» is to give an understanding of what global security is and what is its impact on the regions of the world today. The program is based on a new methodological and theoretical model of teaching. It also provides students with the information on the basic theoretical approaches to global and regional security; provides main information on the contemporary threats and challenges to the global and regional security; improve the skills of analytical, expert and research work.

Program Advantages. All courses are original because they represent the author’s vision of their content, volumes and forms of work. A regular lessons structure includes contact hours where students can get presentations from Instructors and discussions, debate, simulations and etc. There will be a period for reading, reflection and preparing for the next classes.

The proposed methodology allows to develop the following general cultural and professional competencies both for Russian speaking students and foreign students: the ability to freely use foreign languages as a means of professional communication, to conduct dialogue, correspondence, negotiations in a foreign language within the framework of the level of tasks for solving professional issues; proficiency in professional terminology and conceptual apparatus of the sphere of international activity in Russian and foreign languages; knowledge of techniques for establishing professional contacts and developing professional communication, including in foreign languages.

Exchange Semester. Due to the fact that the program has the status of "partially implemented in English", students who come to exchange under bilateral agreements between Ural Federal University and partner universities are invited to choose 30 credits in each semester in English. Russian students, choosing courses in English within the framework of the program of international relations, get the opportunity to develop professional competencies provided by the Educational standard.

Internship: Educational Internship and Internship, including research work (on the topic of final qualification work) is held at UrFU

Learning Outcomes: by the end of the each semester (Fall or Spring) students will be able to get 30 ECTS and will be able to gain practical knowledge of current global development trends and security issues, as well as options for resolving contemporary conflicts. The current international security agenda can be a good platform for the joint training of European and Russian students.
